On January 12th, 2010 the world shuddered in horror at the devastating effects of the Haitian Earthquake, and yet again, sympathetic feelings were shared with the peoples of Peru as they too experienced disaster.
We may have felt our heart sink; we may have shed a tear. How many of us sprang into action to help in some way?
The relief came in bits and spurts. Much of it unorganized, and so many were left to die because of infection, blood loss and shock.
This does not have to be the case.
What Makes the Difference?
Many deaths and psychological trauma could have been avoided if there were enough Practioners on the ground. Practioners not so much of Western medicine, but also of complementary medicine, alternative ways of helping people.
Those complementary practices include energy medicine such as Reiki , acupressure and acupuncture, the practices of indigenous people, aromatherapy, and the use of plants.
The difference between life and death, pain and suffering and
healing and rehabilitation can lie in what the people on the ground know and how he or she makes use of that knowledge.
And that is why I am writing to you and to people like you about Worldwide Holistic Day, Oct. 2, 2011. ( Gandhi’s birthday). You see I was like you; I sat on the coach with my tissues feeling hopeless. But then, a friend said, “ How can we spread holistic practices worldwide?” And so the idea of this day was conceptualized.
The purpose of this day is to help teach others your skills as a holistic practioner for free. You do not have to travel to Haiti or Peru to do so. Begin in your church, your school, your temple, or synagogue. If you can make a u tube video and upload it all the better! If you can give a teleseminar, or a webinar.. go for it! Be creative!!
Gandhi said, “ Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
This is your opportunity.

My goal is to have events worldwide.
May 2011 be a year of much joy, love and healing for us all.
